The challenge
ElAggar Group ran company email on several self-hosted open-source mail servers, one per domain. Each server had to be patched, backed up and kept running separately, users had a different experience depending on which company they belonged to, and there was no single place to manage accounts, storage or security for the group.
What Stark Technology did
- Designed one Zoho Workplace organisation for the group, with all company domains verified and routed into it.
- Migrated mailboxes from the open-source servers to Zoho Mail in planned waves, starting in March 2023, with the largest wave of 115 users moved in July 2023.
- Set up the DNS and email-authentication records for each domain so mail flowed reliably during and after cut-over.
- Sized storage per user, adding extra storage blocks only for the mailboxes that needed them instead of upgrading everyone.
- Took over licensing and day-to-day administration: new joiners, leavers, storage and renewals.
The result
- One managed mail platform for the whole group instead of several servers to maintain.
- The deployment has grown with the business, from the first users in 2023 to 239 mailboxes today.
