The cheapest cable is the most expensive decision
Copper and fibre, containment, patching and labelling — installed to a standard, tested to a certificate, and documented so the next person can find anything in a minute.
From the floor box to the core switch
- Cat6 and Cat6A horizontal cabling, floor boxes, faceplates and patch panels
- OM4 multimode and OS2 single-mode fibre backbones, spliced and terminated on site
- Containment: tray, basket, trunking and conduit, routed away from power and interference
- Racks and cabinets, PDUs, cable management, front and rear dressing
- Certification testing on every link, with the results handed over as a report
- Labelling at both ends and an as-built record that matches what is actually in the wall
What a bad installation costs you later
Cabling is the one layer you cannot patch remotely. It is also the layer clients are most often talked into cutting.
Intermittent faults
Untested links pass at low speed and fail under load. The fault appears months later and looks like an application problem.
No headroom
Cat5e installed to save a little now caps the site before the next equipment refresh — and re-cabling a live office costs many times the original saving.
Unfindable
Unlabelled patching turns a five-minute change into an afternoon, every time, for the life of the building.
Failed handover
Without certification results, main contractors and landlords can refuse sign-off. We test and certify as standard.
Common questions
Cat6 or Cat6A?
It depends on the run lengths, the equipment refresh cycle and whether you will run higher speeds to the desk. We will give you the honest trade-off rather than defaulting to the more expensive one.
Do you certify every link?
Yes, and the results are part of the handover. If a link fails, we fix it before we hand over, not after.
Can you work in a live office?
Yes. Most of our cabling work is phased around occupied floors, out of hours where needed.
Do you do fibre splicing on site?
Yes, including backbone runs between floors and buildings.
Send us the floor plan.
We will survey, quote the containment and the cable properly, and tell you where the specification can safely come down.
