You cannot secure, budget for or renew equipment you cannot list.
Hardware, software and licence records kept current, so renewals stop surprising you, audits stop being a fire drill, and nobody is still paying for a laptop that left last year.
Engineering offices in Egypt, delivering on site across Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and supporting clients remotely across the Gulf, Africa, Europe and the United States.
Most people call. It is faster, and you speak to an engineer, not a form.
What a free asset review looks at
What an out-of-date asset list costs
This is the least glamorous service we offer and one of the most reliably profitable for the client. The waste is always larger than expected.
Licences for people who left
Subscriptions renew per user, and nobody reconciles them against the payroll. Twelve months of paying for staff who are gone is the most common finding we make.
Warranties that expired quietly
A server fails and the support contract ended eleven months ago. The repair is now a purchase, at a bad moment and at full price.
Devices nobody is managing
Machines on the network that are not in any list, so they are not patched, not protected and not backed up. Every audit finds some.
An audit you cannot answer
A vendor true-up or a client questionnaire asks what you run and who has it. Without records, you either guess or spend a fortnight counting.
What we set up and keep current
The value is entirely in the keeping-current. A one-off inventory is out of date within a quarter, which is why we build the process rather than just the spreadsheet.
Discovery and baseline inventory
Finding what is actually there, including the things nobody mentions in the meeting.
- Automated network discovery plus a physical check where needed
- Hardware: make, model, serial, age, warranty and location
- Software and licence position per product and per user
- Cloud subscriptions and per-seat services included
- Ownership recorded, who has the device, and since when
- Unmanaged and unknown devices flagged as a security finding
The gap between the discovered list and the finance list is usually the headline.
Licence and subscription position
The part that pays for the exercise, generally within the first review.
- Microsoft 365 licences reconciled against current staff
- Over-licensed tiers identified. People on premium who do not need it
- Duplicate and overlapping products found and rationalised
- Renewal dates diarised with an owner and a decision date
- Under-licensing flagged before a vendor audit finds it
- A defensible position you could show a vendor
We report the saving as a number, so you can check the value of the work.
Lifecycle and refresh planning
Equipment ages predictably. Budgeting for it a year ahead is cheaper than replacing it in a panic.
- Age and warranty profile of the estate, by device class
- Refresh plan with dates and indicative budget
- End-of-life and end-of-support dates tracked per product
- Standard builds and models, so support gets simpler
- Disposal handled with data wiped and evidenced
- Redeployment where a device has life left in another role
Hardware selection sits in Infrastructure Solutions.
Joiners, movers and leavers
Where asset records go stale fastest, and where the security risk lives.
- Assets issued and recorded at the point of handover
- Transfers logged when a device changes hands
- Leaver checklist: device returned, wiped, licence reclaimed
- Access revoked in step with the asset being returned
- Loan and spare pool tracked rather than assumed
- Quarterly reconciliation against the current staff list
Access removal ties into VPN & Remote Work.
Reporting and audit readiness
Records exist to answer questions. These are the questions they get asked.
- Current asset register available whenever you want it
- Licence position report you can hand to a vendor
- Evidence for ISO 27001 asset-management controls
- Spend and renewal calendar for finance
- Change history, so the register is trusted
- Review meeting where decisions are actually made

Where we have done it
Real Stark work. Client identifiers are withheld under confidentiality. Sector and scope only.
Estate-wide asset baseline
One register across sites, replacing several spreadsheets that disagreed with each other and with the network.
Licence reconciliation
Subscriptions matched against current staff and role, with over-licensed tiers and leaver seats removed at the next renewal.
Asset evidence for certification
Asset register, ownership and classification produced to satisfy ISO 27001 asset-management controls, and kept current afterwards.
Controlled equipment records
Asset tracking in an environment where knowing exactly what is on site, and where, is a requirement rather than good practice.
References can be provided directly, on request, with the client’s agreement.
Three things we will tell you not to do
The questions we get asked most
How much do clients typically save?
It varies too much to promise a figure honestly, but the reliable findings are the same each time: licences for people who have left, users on a premium tier who do not need it, and overlapping products bought by different departments. We report the saving as a number so you can judge the value of the work yourself.
Do we need special software for this?
Not necessarily. For a smaller estate a well-maintained register plus automated discovery is enough. For larger or regulated environments a proper tool earns its keep. We will recommend based on your size, not on what we would prefer to sell.
Can you help us prepare for a vendor licence audit?
Yes. We establish your actual deployed position, compare it to what you are entitled to, and tell you plainly where you are exposed before the vendor does. Finding a shortfall yourself is far cheaper than being told about it.
What about devices staff take home?
They are the ones most often missing from registers and most often carrying company data. We record them, make sure they are managed and encrypted, and build the leaver step that gets them back.
Do you handle disposal of old equipment?
Yes, with the data-wipe evidenced rather than assumed. A disposed device that still holds readable company data is a breach that happens after you thought the asset was gone.
How many Microsoft licences are you paying for right now?
If the answer is not immediate, that is the finding. Ten minutes on the phone and we can tell you where to look first.
